.Approval of Engines for ICVs
Dear Builders, When you purchase your engine, it would be in your interest to get a receipt from a supplier stating the date of manufacture of your engine, remembering that engines prior to date of ICV approval which are up to five years old at compliance date, ARE ACCEPTABLE with standard emission requirements. This will assist your Engineer regarding the emissions question during compliance, as this is a controversial issue. Department of Transport advise that manufacturers do not have records of imported engine build dates. If you buy a half cut, have the date, as discussed above, on the receipt.
