Track Days Information

FOR EXACT DETAILS OF EACH EVENT, PLEASE SCRUTINISE THE RELEVANT RULES AND REGULATIONS PROVIDED BY THE ORGANISERS.

A number of groups around Queensland run at least one, or a series, of street sprints every year. These have been developed in response to the ongoing interest of novice drivers to get out on a track and enjoy their vehicles in a controlled environment. Qld Raceways and the Ipswich/West Moreton Auto Club run a number of sprint events each year that you may participate in if your vehicle is eligible. As the note above indicates, you should check the requirements/regulations of any such event to be sure you can comply with them.

Please note that street sprints, whether as a single event or a series, are NOT A RACE SERIES; if you are interested in racing your clubman or other special interest vehicle there is a full race series organised by Queensland Raceways each year at both Ipswich and Lakeside Circuits. Further details can be found on https://www.qldraceways.com.au

If you are not keen on going flat out, don’t be put off by these events. You are free to go around at your own pace. All drivers should look out for each other at these events, which are broadly aimed at novice drivers having a great day out with their cars on a bona fide track.

ENTRY FORM AND OTHER RELATED FORMS:

The event website will tell you exactly what forms you will need.

COMPETITION LICENCE FOR QUEENSLAND RACEWAY AND LAKESIDE CIRCUITS

A RACERS Competition Licence (Form available from Queensland Raceways Website) must be completed. Form and payment should be sent directly to Queensland Raceways. You will need to create an account to log in to the licensing website. Annual and Day licences are available, but if you plan to enter more than two events a year the Annual Licence is the most cost effective.

COMPETITION LICENCE FOR OAKEY, LEYBURN, PITTSWORTH AND GATTON SPRINTS

Motorsport Australia (CAMS) Licence – Level 2 Speed (L 2 S). Refer to Motorsport Australia Website for Forms and information.

A L2S licence entitles the holder to compete in L2NS events plus regularity trials up to National Championship level, single and multi-car speed events (not racing) up to International level, and touring road events that do not run over closed road sections.
