Cruise to Crows Nest 4th April 2021

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls

The April run will be a little bit earlier than originally planned in order to catch up with like minded grown up kids and their toys in Crow's Nest. There is a Crow's Nest Coffee and Cars group (check them out on Arsebook who catch up first Sunday of every month in order to admire each other's toys. There isn't a particular theme but let's say that a Hyundai i30 would probably be a bit mundane to fit it. Any car (or owner) with 'character', 'sporty', 'old' or that certain 'je ne sais quois' would feel right at home.

The plan is to make a morning of it by combining a drive, coffee at Esk and then on to Crows Nest for more coffee and a bite to eat for lunch.

The date - Sunday 4 April

Rendezvous point and time: Dinmore Pads Parking Bay at 07h45. The Dinmore Pads Parking Bay is on the left heading towards Toowoomba just after the Bundamba Puma servo. The Puma is a reasonably priced servo where you might fuel up. Better yet, join Costco as they have the cheapest petrol around.

We will leave Dinmore Pads at 08h00 and make our way to Esk (50 mins drive) for coffee just before 09h00.

Coffee at Angie's Country Cafe (great horsepitality), which is on the right just before the Esk Hampton Rd.

We will leave there about 09h45 for the 45 min run to Crow's Nest via the Esk Hampton Rd, turning right to take the Perseverance Dam Rd to Esk. Turn left just in the urban area on Charles St to get to the New England Hwy, then left south on the Hwy to the car assembly area.

The destination is signposted as the Curly Carrot eatery.

After some time perving over cars we will take a simple lunch at the cafe (they have pies and things) unless a consensus drives us to something fancier, such as the Crow's Nest Pub.

Let me know if you are interested in coming along so we can plan to avoid overwhelming the cafe and eatery.

If Gold or Sunshine Coasters wish to attend then we can arrange suitable meeting points.

Thaanks to Iaan McMilln (letter 'a' taken from last name to overequip first name with extra 'a') for the graand ideaa.

Lunch run to Pit Stop Cafe, Ocean View

posted Jan 24, 2021, 7:13 PM by Peter Triggell   [ updated Jan 24, 2021, 7:23 PM ]

All are welcome to come along to the Pit Stop Cafe on Sunday 31st Jan for lunch. The address is 2070 Mt Mee Rd, Ocean View.

Sunshine Coasters will find it easier to travel via the D'Aguilar Hwy, while a majority of Brisbanians will rendezvous at the Park'n'Ride at the Gap (we're not travelling via Mt Glorious but the location is well known to most) at around 10h00. We may pick up a few at Dayboro as well.

We have a tentative booking from 11.30 for 20 but for the sake of planning and making sure we don't disappoint anyone we need to know just how many will be coming, so please let me know ASAP if you plan on attending and, if so, how many others you'll be bringing.

See ewes on the road.

Gold Coast September 2020 Run

posted Sep 7, 2020, 2:10 PM by Peter Triggell

I was contemplating not having a run for September with the current COVID-19 situation but as long as the hotel has a current plan in place I’ve decided to go ahead.

So what I plan is to have a chat in the park followed by a short run to The Gem Hotel at Alberton for lunch.  The hotel has two sittings – 11.30am and 1.30pm (I have opted for the 11.30am sitting so RSVP is essential).

Attendees can bring their own coffee – thermos, iced coffee, take-away coffee

Departure Time: 10.15am followed by a run through the cane fields

Destination Arrival Time: 11.15 – 11.30am

Destination: The Gem Hotel, 287 Stapylton Jacobs Well Rd, Alberton

Extra Special Sunshine Coast run, Sun 5 May

“The Rick Jones Run”

It’s been a year since Rick took his helmet and went to have fun on another road. Rick setup the SCCA for like-minded clubbie drivers to meet, drive and have fun (take the piss). There are many that would like to celebrate his influence and humour on our community and this will be a chance to have a drive through the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and then lunch with those that cannot make the run at one of our favourite eating/drinking holes in the area Rick’s Café in Palmwoods. We will try to get display parking at the front for clubbies and photos.
